Hi there everyone. Today I'd like to propose a new change; removing the automatic "Song pages not linked to/from <producer>" category and some reasons why I think it really shouldn't be there.
First off, well, it creates a lot of wanted links in Special:Wantedcategories. Now, if there were actually maintenance being done to control the several unlinked songs, then yeah, maybe this wouldn't be so much of a problem. But our wiki has over 6000 song articles, possibly even more that weren't categorized correctly. This takes up 2/3 of our articles here, meaning that even if there were people organizing it out now, it would still continue to pile up.
Also, the category is kinda useless. Most people don't even look at the categories of a song, they look at songs from the category page, but not vise versa. And if they are looking at the categories, they're usually not using it to take them to fixing a producer page; they're using it to go and find other articles of the same type. And that's what categories are supposed to do. Not what Song pages not linked to/from <producer> does.
I have a couple of solutions we can use instead of the category.
We can use a template instead, that says "This article is not linked to (producer page) page. Please add onto that page." or something along those lines. Additionally, we could also just, well, not even worry about having an alert at all. As it's not really needed and most other major song wikis don't use any system of the sort.
So, let's discuss. I would like to hear the rest of the wiki's opinions on this.
