Your dream Vocaloid?

Since amazingly such a topic hasn't been brought up yet-

Anyway, even if you currently have a "perfect Vocaloid" what would be the one Vocaloid you most want to see? This is generally aimed towards voices over the design but I guess design can be discussed to?

For me it'd have to be a voice like Azusa from Idolmaster. Or another voice like Lolas.

SeeU English (and appends) would be really nice (although I somehow don't see that happening TT^TT ), a Vocaloid rapper and/or a good Latin Vocaloid.  The latter may be wierd but it'll certainly help people learning Latin who like Vocaloid, and Latin was the root of the romance language.  Plus Latin is a beautiful language anyway; shame I haven't found many Latin songs/covers from Vocaloid, UTAU, or anything!

This is weird, but I kind of want more realistic Engloids. Like something at leaste Japanese level.

Even with Dex and Daina just being released they're still pretty choppy and robotic, though a step in the right direction.

I know that in Japan Vocaloid was bigger than it was in English speaking countries, so there were more chances to experiment and more money just in general, but I'm really wanting to find a vocal that's powerful and emotional while still being smooth and understandable. Nothing Engloid-wise has satisfied me yet.

So... I guess my ideal Vocaloid would be a really realistic Engloid? I also noticed that newer Engloids are quite nasally, so maybe a female voice that's less nasally and can convey emotions in their voice.

You're lucky! Zero-G released one some years ago.

I said it two years ago and I keep my statement: A young male voice like Yohioloid's with the range and sophisticated, versatile timbre of LEON.

I know Avanna, I don't have her myself but a friend of mine does so I've seen her in action. And when was she a male vocaloid?

She's expressive, but she's not really emotional. I haven't heard something where she didn't seem more than "a little happy" or "a little sad," yada yada. And she's still pretty choppy. But I think of all things I was hoping for, she or Dex/Daina are the closest.

You wrote about a female voice.

I have and use Avanna, she is not choppy at all. Au contraire, she is precisely too soft and smooth so her pronounciation becomes weird at times cuz her consonants and vowels blend too softly (except th and k phonemes, those are like knives in the words)

"A little happy", "a little sad" is still emotion, heh. Where you expecting an english voicebank that sounds like crying or like screaming?

I'm still doubtful about Daina, I don't like her particular tone but has an amazing pronounciation. And for me, Dex is just "nice".

I know I said female, but to me what you said was that she was a young male voice??

Anyway, Avanna is still me favorite Engloid and for good reason, but from what I was told and when I played around with her myself she doesn't sound very natural. Though that could be wrong, but it's also reflected in what I heard from her. Which ties into the emotion part -- I don't want crying of course but things like belting out of passion like IA and Meiko can is, for example, I really want and Engloid to be capable of. It might require multiple voicebanks though.

I want an Avanna update for no other reason then her getting multiple voicebanks, but that's never going to happen ;-;

I was answering the original thread. "My dream vocaloid is a young male voice.... blah blah."

Weird, cuz Avanna is precisely phraised for being very realistic, but too soft.

While MEIKO is known for being very quite metallic, powerful, perhaps, but not passionate at all. IA is operatic, a singing style that is not emotional, but expressive, and if you consider operatic as emotional, then Prima already exists.

I'm trying to understand what you mean, so maybe we are just confusing terms, dunno XD

Hmm really? I feel like we're having an uneeded debate here XD

Meiko V3 has been known to be powerful, and how metallic or not metallic she sounds is irrelevant, she can belt and belt passionately and I've seen a number of producers use her so well you can hear passion in her voice. And IA isn't "operatic", though she does have opera qualities to her. She's not the same as Prima, either, who was designed to be an opera singer. IA I've used many times. Pretty realistic vocal, and she's emotional plenty. She can't belt like Meiko can (but she can do it pretty well if you work with her), but can seem more happy and sad then Avanna, and it's just because Japanese Vocaloid have had more time to experiment and have some real awful releases. (*Glares at Kagamine V2*)

Again, Avanna is great, and, again, an Engloid I love a lot, but she's not perfect. I wanna get Avanna and test her limits a little, been trying for a long time but I've been busy. But I feel like she has the possibility to do more with her voice. I just want some more Engloid options! XD

So I'll just repeat what I said before:

I want an Avanna update for no other reason then her getting multiple voicebanks, but that's never going to happen ;-;

This theard soon gonna be "your requested vocaloid" this way... I think the "dream" part was supposed to indicate something unreacheable(impossible) for current vocaloid(s) right now. Sorry if gone too offtop here...
