In order from favorite to least favorite:
-MEIKO: She sounds so realistic, and I like that she's an alto, unlike Miku, Luka, and Rin. She's the first Japanese VOCALOID!! -KAITO: He sounds really good in all of the songs I've heard by him. I like how he has such a deep voice. Andddd.... yeah. -Kagamine Rin/Len: I can't choose which is better! I love their high pitched, sometimes robotic voices. The sound really good in their part of Evil Food Eater Conchita. -Hatsune Miku: I love how her voice is so high pitched and (I'll sound like a noob weeb when I say this but...) kawaii, I guess. -Megurine Luka: I don't like her. I don't know why. It's not because she shows so much skin. I like that about her. Something about her voice, maybe. I just really don't like her. Until I started shipping her with Miku... I just kinda ignored her. Now that I do ship her I like her a little bit more.
My favourite Crypton Vocaloid has got to be Kagamine Len by far he is da best I love him.
I didn't really have a least favourite it's so hard because I don't dislike any of them and I dont' pay much attention to Luka, Meiko and Kaito and only watch Miku and Rin occasionally. I like Rin more than Miku tho.
i picked Luka as my least favorite bc she is but i really don't like any of the crypton vocaloids. i don't necessarily have a favorite either bc it depends on my mood but i chose Meiko as my fav bc in comparison to the other Crypton vocaloids she needs some more love. next to Miku (who is the most popular anyway lol) she's the most disliked or bashed Crypton vocaloid and people usually draw her design as not being very pretty/appealing, even though Gumi's boxart is weird looking but everybody draws Gumi looking cute.

Out of the given options, mine would have to be (in order from most to least):
In all actuality, my favourite Vocaloids are Cul, Mayu, and Rin, while my least is... *braces self for the flash mob of fangirls*
I was actually surprised on how most people's favourite is Len. Len? Doesn't Rin generally get more attention out of the Kagamines?
I'm suprised too... Look at the comments, I saw a lot of people saying that don't like Len. So why he is in the top?
My favorite is absolutely Len!!!
Why is everyone complaining Len's voice for "not sounding like a young boy"? As a vocaloid fan from China, maybe I know something about how a young Japanese boy'voice sound, and I swear you a lot of young boys who do professional singing competition in China sound just like Len, maybe the western youngsters sound different with asians I guess, but in most occasions (especially after V4 came out)I don't find anything weird in Len's voice.
Len'svoice is awkward because its neither like Oliver's or like the other post puberty boys and how they sound. In reality its a deep voiced female and has some traits missing from that of a male vocalist. Most think that pitch is the only trait of a male vocal, but there are other issues such as moisture that impact a male voice due to the voicebox growing and all that. Yet he doesn't sound like a child either... There is virtually no difference in male and female vocals as a child.
This is an issue also addressed by the Japanese fandom, who also feel that at times Len has issues with masculinity. So its not just western fans who have an issue with this. At times Len can sound not masculine at all, depending on the voicebank you use.
All of this is because they used an adult female vocalist, and while you can get away with it for animation, in reality to music its not 100% a perfect match. The reason they use women for voice acting is the forementioned issue of puberty, and characters like Max and Kenny from Beyblade, or Phineas from Phineas and Ferb, and even Harry Potter's actor, all demonstrate the issue as their voices broke during the runoff the things they were based on. Adult females can do the same vocal range as males as children, however... Adult vocals are naturally much harder then child vocals. You never get a perfect fit for this reason, you either use a child and hope for puberty not come along, or use an adults and remain stable but not a perfect match.
It doesn't always matter, CFM are known to alter samples to make their vocaloids have a certain quality to them, Kaito and Meiko not being subject to the same treatment. Len can often barely sound like his provider these days, because they over do it at times. Even if they weren't doing that, naturally he is still considered the least realistic member of the CV series for a reason.
edit; Also consider the CV series were never suppose to be realistic vocals, Miku just sounded "cute", Rin "tension" and Luka "moody" Len wasn't even in the plan from day1 it seems, though he was there by the time their VA was hired. Though some things changed, the overall thing is that they gave a professional producer a vocal of a specific type to play around with. Your talking about a series that was never realistic at all to begin with. They've since seemingly tried to make at least Luka more realistic sounding, but generally we don't talk about realism and praise the CV series at all for theirs.
I don't know what else to say on the matter. As I said, the issues been brought up in Japan, so there isn't much room to argue here. Most Japanese producers by the Kagamine package for Len and he has far less usage. But Rin *is* the overall better vocal of the two usually. She is a little more closer to the VA though.
Literally everyone's going to hate me for this, and I will probably get murdered by MEIKO fanboys, but personally my favorite is Miku and my least favorite is MEIKO. I'm very weird and usually the bait for hate in many communities.
There's the people who hate Miku because of her popularity. I've seen people who believe that they have control over their fame. All Vocaloids are just computer programs. Better yet, they're even FOR a computer program. *please dont take this out of consideration i like meiko but shes my least favorite cryptonloid dont hurt me pls im just a normie weeb*
We're a open wiki that supports everyone's opinions, we may step in to correct facts which can give the impression otherwise, but we don't bully others into hating or loving another vocaloid. If we did that it not only would go against the greeater wiki staffs policy, but we would likely not be able to function.
The issues with Miku are indeed mostly because of her popularity, she is both the most loved and hated vocaloid overall for the same reason. She has more songs, more merch, etc then every other vocaloid combined.... With some producers refusing to flat out touch other Vocaloids at all.
Also... I will point out, you're kinda miss using the term "weeb" or "weaboo", unless you want to become Japanese and ignore your own heritage, your just a anime/manga nut. WEaboos don't know their not Japanese or can't be Japanese. Their kinda strange and funny because they completely have misconceptions of Japan and get things wrong, but don't know their getting it wrong.
