“Because those who enjoy the "love"(game), win.”
—Author's comment
This song is part of the Confession Executive Committee Love Series, this time focusing on two characters other than the main six- Enemoto Koutaro's friend Shibasaki Ken, and Takizawa Arisa, a first year student. The song is mostly sung from the perspective of Shibasaki until the end. It has entered the Hall of Fame.
Shibasaki is a known flirt among Sakuraoka High School, and won't commit to a real relationship because he'd rather play around and have fun. On one particular day, he tries to ask out Arisa, but the fact that she wasn't drawn to him like other girls were, and hearing her harsh but well-meaning words, starts to grab his attention. Over time, he tries to get closer to her, and eventually gets her to crack a smile at a spontaneous gesture (giving her his textbook in exchange for him skipping class), but she remains aloof. This action enamors him, and makes him take love a little more seriously.
One day, he goes to confess to her at the feet of a shrine, but Arisa walks right past him and leaves. The next day, Shibasaki is cornered by two of his exes, wondering why they can't contact him anymore. Arisa overhears Shibasaki sweet-talking them and mistakes it for him flirting again, heartbroken. At the end, she reveals that she has feelings for Shibasaki as well.
