Background[]

One day, a brother and a sister play a game. But the sister gets lost in the woods. The brother returns home, and some time passes before suddenly, his sister appears in his room. There she is, alive, but she isn't breathing. Her eyes are blank and dark, and it's apparent that she had died. Her mother blames the brother for her death, and as she speaks she suddenly begins to choke, as if she's being suffocated. The brother watches his mother die, being choked to death by his sister, who sits next to him. But he knows that his sister blames him, too, and can feel her slowly draining his life away. Instead of sticking to the promise made that, should one of them die, they come back and tell the other what it's like on the other side, she decides to let him see it for himself, just like she did.

Lyrics[]

My sister was so kind
Till she got lost in the
Forest during our game

A few weeks later
I found her in my room
She had crawled out of that forest

Ever since she hasn't been the same
Her eyes are blank
I'm sure she doesn't even breathe

I know she's here only because of me

When we were young
We made a promise
The first of us to die
Will come back to tell the other

What lies beyond
This life

Now you are dead
And I'm alive
But your death can't tear
Us apart

You are so quiet today
We listen as our mother
Blames me for your death

I see how her words
Start to irritate you
Then the words get stuck in her throat

You're suffocating her in front of me...

My eyes are blank
I know that you also blame me
You are slowly draining my life away

It's alright

I want to play our game again
Asking just for a single thing
I hear you laugh
Tag, you're it!
Out of breath, running
Uselessly
Hurry and catch me, already
A familiar chill run down my spine
I hear you whisper
"Bye bye"

It's alright
After all
It's all my fault you died

When we were young
We made a promise
The first of us to die
Will come back to tell the other

What lies beyond
This life

Now you are dead
And by my side
Let's tease those who are
Still alive
