Mew VOCALOID3 | Songs Albums Notable Originals

This article is about the VOCALOID3 software known as a voicebank. If you are looking for the VOCALOID character then click here.

History[]

Mew is a female VOCALOID based on the singer Miu Sakamoto. Mew was first featured on the CD "The VOCALOID" with a demo of her song, called "Line," (by Yuyoyuppe)[1]

When the Japanese Yamaha VOCALOID website was updated, it was revealed that Mew was due to be released as a bundled package with the VOCALOID3 software as a starter option, alongside VY1 who was being released separately under the same bundle. Mew is also sold alone without the software.

Her boxart was revealed on September 13, 2011.[2]

Mew was made available to purchase by pre-order on the official VOCALOID site. This was on September 30, 2011, making her, SeeU, Gumi Extend, and VY1v3 the very first VOCALOIDs of the 3rd generation.

Mew "Second Edition"[]

The original version of Mew was discontinued from sale on April 20th, 2013.[3] While she was listed as getting a second edition alongside the V3 editor, VY1v3, VY2v3, Aoki Lapis, and Tone Rion, she alongside Rion's SE release never came out, likely due to their NEO versions being in development.

Mac Update[]

In 2013, a Mac version of Mew called "Mew NEO" was released. This used the new VOCALOID NEO engine to work on Mac computers.
