Kiyoteru's voice was provided by a Japanese singer, Kiyoshi Hiyama. His name was a secret until Kiyoshi himself announced it on Nico Nico Live on August 12, 2010.[2][3]

Final Retirement[]

At the end of 2015, it was announced that from March 31, 2016, VOCALOID2 would be retired, and no new serial codes would be issued by Yamaha.[4]

Package details as noted:

Kaai Yuki and Kiyoteru were designed to be VOCALOIDs that had human-esque traits about them. He is a CV of provider Kiyoshi Hiyama and represents a degree of faithfulness in his vocal recreation of the provider's vocal.

Vocal traits as noted:
  • His treble range is supposedly smooth, which allows for an easier usage of the higher octaves.[5] He can maintain stablity quite well in comparison to other VOCALOID2 vocals.
  • The softness of treble is on par with KAITO's, but he lacks the power of KAITO's treble range.
  • Due to the softness of his vocals, he cannot produce a satisfactory low masculine vocal tone and has a weak bass.[6]
  • His vocal has a smooth glide across notes and offers a valuable male vocal.[7]
Phonetic notes as noted:
  • He has clear Japanese consonant sounds.
  • His beginning consonant sounds get shorter as well as with other AH-S vocaloids. Because of this he is often said upon his inital release that he was not easy for beginners to use.[8]
