"Project if..." is an experimental project by Crypton Future Media first announced 26/10/2009. It had been in planning stage since spring 2009 and a website was expected in May 2011 as a teaser.
Very little is known about it other than it is very different to Crypton's Character Vocal series, although there was some initial confusion caused by the project being introduced at the same time as their next vocal. To date, a number of demo songs have been uploaded, including "boy".
To date, the project has been confirmed to host three child β versions, one adult β version and one adult α version, the only "named" voicebank is the male Junger März PROTOTYPE β voice. Crypton Future Media had noted there was always a risk that children would be portrayed in a sexual manner and that some users view the Vocaloid software as like a doll they can make do as they please and had already happened with Hatsune Miku. The project is based on a elementary school setting.
The status of this project is currently unknown as there has been no reference to it since 2010.
The following month after the announcement by Crypton Future Media, AH software unveiled Kaai Yuki and Kiyoteru Hiyama, who were a student and teacher in a elementary setting. Since its impossible to build a voicebank library in one month, it meant both AH Software and Crypton Future Media both had ideas to make an elementary school setting series.
