  • Since most people seem to enjoy talking about certain genres VOCALOIDs should specialise in I thought i'd make a poll on it. Do be wary however that this list will be a fairly simplified version of genres as there is a wide variety of genres and sub-genres in music. If you're interested in a full list I suggest going on this wikipedia page : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_popular_music_genres
It's also worth noting that many of these genres are alike so a VOCALOID specialising in one could potentially sound as good in another similar one.

What genre do you like seeing a VOCALOID specialise in, or want to see a VOCALOID specialise in?

    • I tend to like Pop, Rock, Jazz, Techno, Metal, and Electronica

I picked Rock as I tend to go back to that genre plenty of times on my playlist

    • Serza likes herself some good trance and techno and electronica. Although I would buy a VOCALOID specialising in swing so fast because I especially love electronic swing.

    • I've stated many a time that I'm waiting on a vocaloid that specialized in Alternative Rock. Therefore it's no surprise that I chose Rock. I also tend to drift towards Pop, Jazz, and to a lesser extent Techno and Dubstep.

    • What's with all you metal fans in VOCALOID? I'm curious.

    • hip hop

There is a style of pacing (aka. flow) that only a few producers can achieve with the current Vocaloid voice banks. And given that any Vocaloid can go into 'mumble' mode, having one that can handle syllables and fast paced hip hop would be nice.

    • I'd love to see a metal VOCALOID because a) I love metal, and b) Being able to create a vocal that can scream and growl like a real metal singer, while still being able to handle slower and simpler songs would be great. It would really be a good test to see just what the software can handle, especially since we've moved into V4.

    • Am I the ONLY one that wants a female vocal that has that blues/country raspiness and lowness?

    • I'm a heavy metal fan... But please... No screamo... Most screamo is not music as per say, thats just noise... Kinda like the complaint people have towards rap being just talking and not actually music. I'm not trying to offend anyone with that comment. ^_^'

      Nope! That sounds cool!

Also I picked rock because that's my favorite genre.

    • I want an rnb english or spanish vocaloid sooo bad. a vocaloid with rap capabilities would be cool but I feel like thered need to be a whole different program for that. and not voiceroid or anything because rapping is only "just talking" if you suck at it.

what would a vocaloid specialized for dnb sound like? is there an associated voice type for dnb?

    • I would love to see a vocaloid that sepicalizes in Jazz,Hip Hop,Soul,R&B,Pop,Blues,Oddies,Salsa and Rock. But in case that doesn't happen i'll do it someday if I ever make a vocaloid.

    • I want a Engloid that specializes in metal, all the Engloids we have so far have such mild voices and are better suited for pop or soft rock.

    • An Engloid that can do Falsetto (now really a genre but I do think it would be cool to have).

Well, for me, I really got into vocaloids when I was a little younger, and with the time, I driffited towards liking more heavy music, now I am completely absorved in the metal scene (for you to have and idea, my favorite sub genre of metal is melodic/progressive death metal, the type that has brutal growling and screaming vocals, but tend to also use clean singing and have a more "beautiful type" melody), but then, when I already listened to barely nothing vocaloid related, I discoverd metal vocaloid producers, and got back to listening to vocaloid ASAP

Every time I get more into vocaloid I check to see if a more metal based one was realesed, it's honestly, one of my dreams as a fan of metal, that also has a sweet spot for vocaloids in his heart (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧

    • They should make a vocaloid with samples from Hiro from Nocturnal Bloodlust or Ruki from The GazettE, or, my god, just imagine, one with vocals from Kyo from Dir En Grey, that would be mind-blowingly good
