    • I have never come across any Vocaloid and/or Utau fans ever disliking Miku just because the UTAU software is free. Fans usually have other reasons for disliking Miku such as hogging the spotlight from other Vocaloids or that Crypton Future Media is milking Miku's voicebank for easy cash

    • There have been all sorts of reasons for people hating Miku, for Teto fans they sometimes get it rubbed in their face that UTAU is what it is... A freebie software that isn't as good as Vocaloid overall. This leaves them a little bit with a grudge on their face so they tend to take their frustrations out on pro-Miku fans overall. This leads to petty insults and attacks.

Edit: Also in regards to the whole issue of Vocaloid versus UTAU in general... Is a lot of UTAU fans just can't accept issues to do with quality, they don't want to be told UTAU is worst then Vocaloid. But Vocaloid fans also have these mentality to undervalue UTAU because its not as high quality.

Blow for blow on the issue, I don't care... I will note that UTAU's time is going to run out as it stopped receiving updates in 2013. So Teto has a lifespan of however long things last before a coding update causes UTAU to be rendered unusable. Its something many UTAU fans won't accept either. With so much fan input its lasted this long and will be dragging its heels for a long time still, so... It won't just die out over night when the time comes for it to do so. Even Vocaloid is subject to this, there are still vocaloid nuts who prefer V1 over V4...

I just hope Teto somehow survives when this event happens, after all that is said and done, it would be a shame if this just killed her. It would be better if she went out some other way even before then. I prefer it when things get a final hurrah, as once stated by a Discworld novel, when something goas out at the top of its game, people talk for years to come about what could have been. The legacy is that their name is on the lips of people for a long time and people ponder on what their greatest song could have been. I'd rather the "what if..." then "whatever..." my thoughts are.

but I don't see the point nor the problem about this.

    • Point; PEople find reasons to hate Miku

Problem; Teto and UTAU in general is on life support because technology is moving forward and UTAU is stick in 2013.

(edit; hopefully this isn't the end for her that would be a bit sad... But... At the same time it brings closure I guess when it does so if nothing is done that's fine too... We don't even know how long Vocaloid will last and its doing just fine right now).

Upside of living where you are; you often have your own translations of anime and manga, and have some nobody else will ever get.

Downside; cost of importing what you don't get.

Wow I actually never knew this! That's pretty sad...can't they make UTAU2 or something to you know "improve" the UTAU software? So it won't fail and she'd well DIE because I have a lot of favorite UTAUs (like macne nana, teto, defoko, momo etc.) And it would be deppresing to see them die out if UTAU dies out due to that coding update...(and oh God. I hope vocaloid dosn't fail also and get its V5 or whatever to get it working...because imagine how much money those people will waste if vocaloid died out....and also I guess it makes sense that fans would move on to V1 because of those INSANE prices to get a vocaloid(for the V4 engine...i think the engine itself costs like 300 dollars? Didn't check) ..even tough if they was lower priced they'd be receiving even more updates for VOCALOID than now...(V5 might've came in sooner...hopefully) ugh all of this is ultra sad....I hope these systems will last until technology make its advancements....I really just hope...)

    • UTAU ended its development in 2013. Luckily for it there are still fans making voices and resamplers and what not, this has greatly extended its life. We just don't know whats going to happen to it when the time comes. There are always people who don't move onto the new ways, so there is a buffer time between the old and new. So its death will never be over night.

Vocaloid is going strong, we had a spout of people creating "Vocaloid is dying" comments earlier this year on the forum Vocaloid Otaku forums. But people are still buying Vocaloid. V1 is no longer sold. When Windows 10 came along, V1 took a hit and stopped working, yet it was still used. You get about 15 mins before it bugs out completely and to this day people still use it despite it not being on sale.

V5 is expected this year or the next.  ;->
