The following is a guide to writing Vocaloid (mascot) and their software articles, as where to log information on the wikia.

Following an announcementEdit

When a new vocal is unveiled, mentioned or released, the following places need to be update;

The page "Status" was designed to log every known Vocaloid voicebank, and later upcoming Vocaloid developments. This acts a guide for readers and editors alike, listing every known project and a brief state on its development. The aim is to aid with further research of Vocaloids.

As "Status" is meant to be a look-up page, typically information on each Vocaloid is kept to an minimum. If a Vocaloid has more then 3 paragraphs of information, then a page should be considered for it. It is preferred that Editors avoid making stub pages completely, and use Status to record information on a unreleased, unnamed or prototype vocals.

Another role that "Status" holds is to log fake projects, though not every fake project may be logged to keep down advertisements, personnel plug-ins and spam. This is also part of its attempt to keep all editors and readers on the same level, and avoid spreading false information.

Editors should be aware that "Status" is not necessarily a newbie friendly page. This is due to the fact it holds a great amount of different information on different classifications of Vocals and Vocaloids and the amount of wiki-code which may be used in sections.

The main site page contains a section labelled "Latest news". This records in one or two sentences, up to a paragraph maximum, recent news. This section is broken into different categories, which are subject to change depending on what announcements are made and when The soul exceptions being "New vocals" and "Releases countdown:" which remain permanent even if there is nothing announced for those sections.

Generally, a News is logged when it is known to be intended for release, as such private vocals such as Ueki-loid or hide. Same goes for prototypes and vocals without a company behind them yet, as in both cases the vocals may not end up being released at all. Any upcoming vocal with release down will be transferred to the "Releases countdown:" section of "Latest News".

When there is no news on any upcoming new vocal or new countdowns, the section must have a notice to cover this, rather then removing or leaving the sections blank.

The wikias placeholder image

The "Upcoming" section of the front page logs all both known and named Vocaloids, their release dates or estimations, as well a image of the upcoming product. It logs announced named projects which are known to be set for release and does not log private, prototype or such vocals.

The image used is subject to change as the development approaches the release date. Initally,if the project is known but no image is supplied to go with it, then the wikias placeholder image "Unknown-icon.png" is used. If the avatar of the Vocaloid is known, it is used instead of "Unknown-icon.png". Once the product boxart image is released, ten this takes priority over an other image.
