Yumemi Nemu VOCALOID4

This is an article about the Yumemi Nemu software for the VOCALOID4 engine.

Originally, four more vocals were planned after Tone Rion as part of the Vocaloidol group. It is unclear whether or not Nemu is one of the originally planned vocals.

On December 28, 2016, Yumemi Nemu, along with an update for Tone Rion, were announced for the VOCALOID4 engine and were expected to release on February 16, 2017. A starter pack for Nemu would be made available.[1] It was also announced that Nemu Yumemi was the voice provider for both characters.[2]

Package details
Though both Tone Rion and Nemu share the same provider, the Nemu product is intended to be a faithful recreation of the provider in contrast to Tone Rion and was recorded in her normal talking voice.

Also included is over 130 recordings of the provider.

Vocal traits as noted:
  • Produces more realistic results than Tone Rion.
  • She has a larger vocal range than Tone Rion.
  • Nemu's vocal sounds more mature than Tone Rion's vocal and is intended to be more adult-like.
  • The vocal has more power in its tone than Tone Rion.
Cross-Synthesis notes:
  • Yumemi Nemu and Tone Rion V4 can use XSY with each other.
    • In total two packages offer the equivalent together of 2 additional voicebanks achievable via XSY. The total tone variation offered by the package comes to a theoretical 4 voicebanks in total.
Software issues as noted:
  • Though treated as different singers, there is sometimes problems with separating Nemu and Rion from each other. When singing something simple that doesn't challenge either vocal they can often sound very alike at their core. This is simply because they share the same provider for their voices.
    • Nemu only leaves Rion behind when their vocals are pushed to their limits and Nemu's vocal performance can go further then Rion's vocal performance overall.
